I have much more control over my vision now. My eyes react automatically to changes in what I am looking at and I have the tools to decrease my headaches that aren't meds. Thanks Megan & Dr. Kaplow.

During the summer of 2017 I began to experience double vision. It got to the point where reading was almost impossible and everyday activities were affected. I went to an eye Dr. and was prescribed glasses. While that helped with the "big" picture a little bit, reading was almost impossible. My Dr. sent me to Allens Creek Optometry for "eye therapy." I saw Dr. Kaplow who did a thorough eye exam and recommended 16 weeks of "eye therapy." I will admit that I was very skeptical. What is "eye therapy?" I really had no choice, loss of any vision is a life-altering event. I had to try it. I met with Katie Herman and we did a few tests and a short therapy session. Not knowing what to expect and not really having a choice, I did everything that Katie told me to do for "homework." Again, losing any vision changes everything. As the weeks progressed, my therapy "test" scores slowly improved and I could read for longer periods of time. Sixteen weeks later, after weekly half-hour sessions, I can honestly say that eye therapy has changed my life. While I still need glasses, I have no problem reading, doing crossword puzzles and just functioning every day. Wow! I am very grateful for all the staff at Allens Creek Optometry for everything they have done to change and improve my life. That is what they did, they changed my life. Thank you for everything.

Dr. Bateman is extremely insightful and thorough. I had been to two other doctors for dry eye, and was advised to use warm washcloths. My appointments with Dr. Bateman are 45-60 minutes long. She does extensive testing and will keep trying different prescriptions and other creative methods for dry eye. My dry eye has improved with her support. She genuinely cares about her patients, which seems very rare these days. I strongly recommend Dr. Bateman.

Upon completion of Vision Therapy, what changes have you noticed?
Decrease in headaches and improved reading ability. Over-all noticeable changes have been: eyes better while reading, a lot less headaches, less migraines and vision not as blurry as often. Would recommend the program to others if they need it. It was VERY HELPFUL,

Everyone was very friendly, honest and informative. I appreciate the option of optical technology for my 7-year-old in lieu of dilation. She also found glasses that she liked right away.

I actually enjoy my time here. That alone is remarkable for a medical office.

The staff at Allen's Creek Family Optometry are incredible! They have specialties for injuries that other Optometrists don't offer. I came a long way with they're help. They aren't happy until you're happy. They are friendly and caring. They make you feel like family.
